'Immigration to Canada' Google search trending as Americans panic over likely election result

According to Google Trends, the term "Move to New Zealand" has peaked over the past seven days, with many Americans in particular searching the key phrase on election day.

Other trending queries related to the topic also include "Places to move if Trump wins," and "New Zealand real estate", according to developer James Macfie.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph reported that Americans are searching 'end of the world' as Trump moves closer to winning the Presidential race."Oh, America. People in the US increasingly search for 'end of the world' over the last few hours", they Tweeted.

Google searches for "Places to move if Trump wins" was up 500 per cent, "How to move to Canada" up 250 per cent, "New Zealand real estate" and "best country to move to" up 200 per cent, and "where to move if Trump wins" up 180 per cent.

The words "terrifying" and "end of the world" are also trending on Twitter.
